Meet Carmel

Carmel’s journey into TCM began in her 20s after a transformative personal experience with acupuncture in Australia. That spark led her to dedicate her career to a holistic, client-centered approach to healthcare—an ethos that now guides in her clinic.

Carmel completed a three year Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture, followed by 1 year clinical training to earn her Licentiate in Acupuncture. Her practice is informed by a commitment to lifelong learning, with advanced postgraduate training.

Carmel lives and breathes the values she shares with her clients—balance, intention, and natural health. Her practice is a space where traditional healing meets modern evidence based treatments and strategies empowering individuals to reclaim their health and live with greater vitality.

Restore Balance, Live Fully

Using the five pillars of TCM—acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, therapeutic movement, and lifestyle guidance—I focus on identifying the root cause of imbalance and supporting sustainable, whole-body health.

  • With over 2000 years of practice and development, Traditional Chinese Medicine has evolved into a complex medical system used to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and promote overall well-being. It is recognised by the World Health Organisation and is very effective in the treatment for many conditions.

  • Acupuncture points have a high concentration of nerve endings, mast cells, lymphatics and capillaries, all capable of triggering biochemical and physiological changes in the body from the subtle to the dramatic.

When a needle is inserted into an acupuncture point, it stimulates the sensory receptor and sets off a chain reaction – the sensory receptor stimulates the nerve, which in turn transmits impulses to the phyothalamic-pituitrary-adrenal system.  This complex system of interactions between the brain, hormones and glands is powerhouse, responsible for regulating a number of bodily processes.

One of the processes that acupuncture commonly work with is the release of neurotransmitters and endorphins, the body’s natural pain-killing hormones (200 times more potent than morphine).  Endorphines play a significant role in the hormonal system.

Acupuncture is also used to release substances that relax the body and regulate serotonin which affects emotions. Other physiological effects include increased circulation, decreased inflammations, easing of muscle spasms and increased T-cell count, which supports the immune system.
