Acupuncture points have a high concentration of nerve endings, mast cells, lymphatics and capillaries, all capable of triggering biochemical and physiological changes in the body from the subtle to the dramatic.
When a needle is inserted into an acupuncture point, it stimulates the sensory receptor and sets off a chain reaction – the sensory receptor stimulates the nerve, which in turn transmits impulses to the phyothalamic-pituitrary-adrenal system. This complex system of interactions between the brain, hormones and glands is powerhouse, responsible for regulating a number of bodily processes.
One of the processes that acupuncture commonly work with is the release of neurotransmitters and endorphins, the body’s natural pain-killing hormones (200 times more potent than morphine). Endorphines play a significant role in the hormonal system.
Acupuncture is also used to release substances that relax the body and regulate serotonin which affects emotions. Other physiological effects include increased circulation, decreased inflammations, easing of muscle spasms and increased T-cell count, which supports the immune system.

Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a distinctive edible mushroom that grows on aged hardwood trees. Due to its protected status in parts of Europe, including the UK, MycoNutri™ Lion’s Mane is produced exclusively from cultivated H. erinaceus.
Lion’s Mane contains a diverse range of active compounds, including diterpenoid erinacines, benzaldehyde hericenones and beta-glucans. These compounds have been the focus of clinical research for their potential neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and neuroregenerative effects, with particular relevance to cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment and peripheral nerve regeneration.
MycoNutri™ Lion’s Mane combines vacuum-concentrated and spray-dried alcohol and hot-water extracts for full-spectrum activity.
"Full-spectrum" refers to the inclusion of a comprehensive range of primary and secondary metabolites naturally present throughout the mushroom's growth stages. These metabolites are concentrated through multiple complementary extraction methods. The full-spectrum extract contains a wide array of primary and secondary metabolites, contributing to broad-spectrum activity and synergy across multiple physiological systems.
The key compounds found within MycoNutri's Lion’s Mane Full Spectrum Extract are:
Hericenones – found in the fruiting body; associated with support for cognitive performance and neuroprotection.
Erinacines – a distinct group of compounds known to stimulate Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), present in advanced extracts derived from multiple stages of the mushroom's development.
Beta-glucans – immunomodulatory polysaccharides with well-documented effects on host immune response.
